- Follow Gibraltar Road for 7 miles to Camino Cielo.
- Turn right on Camino Cielo and follow the crest road for 5.8 miles to Romero Saddle then drop down an additional 4.6 miles on a rough dirt road to the Santa Ynez River crossing where the road leading up to Jameson Reservoir takes off on the right.
- Continue past the crossing an additional 3.6 miles until you reach the P-Bar Flats car campground.
P-Bar was based on the brand of the Pendola family who had an adobe home near Pendola Ranger Station. They ran cattle in the days before Gibraltar Dam was constructed. Their permit was canceled because people in Santa Barbara said the cattle would contaminate the lake, which was used as Santa Barbara drinking water. The road to the camp, 5N 15 is often closed during wet weather.
There are 4 sites, 4 wood and pipe tables, 4 pedestal stoves and rock fire rings, a large corral for stock, pit toilets and water from the river.
