Elevation: 5843 feet. Located along the Sierra Madre mountain crest. Pointed top provides its name. Listed as one of the Sierra Club hundred peaks. Easy climb to the top, 400' elevation gain.
Jim Blakley Notes
Located in the Mount Pinos Ranger District seven miles south on Aliso Canyon Road from Highway 166 in the Cuyama Valley. It flows from the northeast side of McPherson Peak to the Cuyama River.
Sierra Club Hundred Peaks Section Notes
Peak Mountain is believed to have been named for its appearance. While it may not be as prominent as surrounding summits, it nonetheless has a tapering projecting tip. Santa Barbara historian Jim Blakley believes this name may have been given for this reason by local residents about 1900.
