Elevation: 4680 feet. Located on the top of the San Rafael Mountain Range between Cachuma Saddle and Figueroa Mountain. The U. S. Geological Survey was going to name the peak Davidson Peak in honor of the Forest Ranger in whose district it was located but, he requested it be named Ranger Peak in honor of all the U. S. Forest Rangers.
