Though Santa is now found a home in Ventura and his huge presence is no longer an attraction, the wide, sandy beach at Santa Claus Lane is perfect for an afternoon in the sun, a picnic, or exploring the rocky tidepools near Loon Point at lower tides.

  • Length : 2.5 miles west to the Loon Point beach access; 1.5 miles east to Carpinteria State Beach
  • Tide Notes : Loon Point accessible only at low tides.
  • Cautions : To reach the beach you must cross the Southern Pacific Railroad tracks.
  • Accessibility : To reach the beach you must cross the Southern Pacific Railroad tracks.
  • UseFees : None
  • Canine : Dogs are allowed on the beach on leash.

Access / Parking

  1. From State Street, follow Highway 101 east for 8.5 miles to the Santa Claus Village turnoff.
  2. Turn right at the bottom of the off ramp then immediately left onto the frontage road that leads to Santa Claus Village.
  3. There is plenty of informal beach parking for the next half milea long the frontage road.

 

 


Things to Know

To reach the beach you must cross the Southern Pacific Railroad tracks. Supervise children closely.
